Restorative yoga is all about relaxing the nervous system, releasing muscular tension, and creating a calmer mind. It involves lots of props and hands-on adjustments to help each student completely relax into every pose. Most poses will be lying down or seated and will be held for an extended period of time (usually from 5 to 20 minutes) so you’ll need to bring warm clothes and socks. Due to the amount of props and the hands-on attention from the teacher, classes are small. Although suitable for everyone, Restorative yoga can be particularly beneficial to those who are injured, suffering from depression or anxiety, or for those who would like a more gentle yoga practice.
