**New class**

I will be starting a new class at Neal’s Yard Salisbury on Fridays at 11.30-12.30.  The first class will be on Friday 8th January.  As with the other classes at Neal’s Yard, each 6 week course costs £42.  Please contact me if you are interested in attending.

**Workshops**

I will be running a series of workshops throughout next year, involving a more detailed look at specific themes.  The first workshop will be on the theme of balance.  Here are the details:

Finding the feet: A balance workshop

When: Saturday 20th February 2016 10am-12pm

Where: Neal’s Yard, Market Place, Salisbury

Cost: £20

We’ll be exploring balance of all kinds, appreciating the feet, using the breath, and thinking about our relationship with the ground.   Here’s some inspiration!

Class limited to 6 pupils, so please contact me to reserve your spot.

Finally…

Thank you all for your support and attendance throughout this year- it is so fulfilling to watch others catch the yoga bug!  Keep asking questions, and keep moving!

  All the best,

Autumn news

“The quiet transition from autumn to winter is not a bad time at all. It’s a time for protecting and securing things and for making sure you’ve got in as many supplies as you can. It’s nice to gather together everything you possess as close to you as possible, to store up your warmth and your thoughts and burrow yourself into a deep hole inside, a core of safety where you can defend what is important and precious and your very own. Then the cold and the storms and the darkness can do their worst. They can grope their way up the walls looking for a way in, but they won’t find one, everything is shut, and you sit inside, laughing in your warmth and your solitude, for you have had foresight.”  Tove Jansson, Moominvalley in November

 Dear All,

Here are a few things you need to know about during the next few months.

 Restorative Yoga

Change is in the air: the leaves are turning, the temperature’s dropping- what better time to come along to a restorative yoga class!   The next classes are on:

Thursday 29th October at All Saints Church Hall, North Baddesley 7-8.15pm

Wednesday 4th November at St George’s Hall, Harham, Salisbury 6.30-7.45pm

Classes cost £12 and involve fully supported passive stretching, breath exercises, and guided deep relaxation.  Poses are usually supine or seated with lots of props (blankets, bolsters) and adjustments.

Please make payment in advance by bank transfer or cash/cheque to reserve your spot.  If you are unable to make the class please give me at least 48 hours notice, any later than this then I’m afraid I’m unable to offer a refund.

 Tuesday classes

Tuesdays classes in Salisbury will be moving location from 26th October to The Therapy Centre, 57 Winchester St, Salisbury SP1 1HL.  There is free parking after 3pm nearby at Culver Street.  If you’d like to come along to either the 6-7pm or 7.15-8.15pm class, just let me know.

Isaac Watts class

Sadly I’ll be stopping my yoga class at Isaac Watts Church on Friday evenings.  As I’ve moved to Salisbury, it was getting a bit much for me to travel there each week.  Last class will be Friday 23rd October.  I’m looking to start a new daytime yoga class on Fridays in Salisbury, so do let me know if you’d potentially be interested in this.

Summertime News

I’m taking a couple of weeks off on holiday from Monday 31st August- Friday 11th September 2015, so there will be no classes during that period.  Here’s an update on some changes to classes when I get back.

 *Class prices*

The cost to hire halls at All Saints and Isaac Watts is due to increase in September.  In light of this, I’ve decided to make all prices for my own classes the same (this excludes classes held at gyms and fitness clubs).  So that means from September all classes will cost £8 drop-in or £42 for a 6 (consecutive) week course.  Restorative yoga now costs £12 per session.

*Restorative classes*

The next restorative yoga class at All Saints Church, North Baddesley will be Thursday 27th August 2015 7-8.15pm.

My new monthly restorative yoga class at St Thomas’s House in Salisbury will be on Tuesday 25th August 2015 7.15-8.30pm.  Don’t worry if you can’t make this session as depending on who can make it, I’ll be flexible on the day to make it work for most people- just let me know if you can’t make it but would be interested in a different time or day.

Both these classes are limited to 6 people and cost £12.  To reserve a spot on either of the classes please contact me.

*New Salisbury blocks*

The start of the new block for my classes at Neal’s Yard and St Thomas’s House will begin w/c 14th September-19th October.  If you would like to book on the course, please let me know and make payment at least a week in advance of the start to reserve your spot.  Drop-in options are getting a bit limited now as the classes are small, but let me know if you’d prefer to do this and I’ll see if there is space.

Finally, if anyone has any requests for what they’d like to work on for the new term, just let me know and I’ll see what I can do!

Enjoy the rest of the summer and see you in class.

Spring

“It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.” Charles Dickens, Great Expectations

This week’s classes are all about spring cleaning.  We’ll be rooting down to spring up, spending time twisting, balancing, and listening to how our feet communicate with our body.

New year yoga news

A few changes afoot this year…

I am pleased to announce that I will be stating a new Restorative yoga class at All Saints Church Hall, North Baddesley on Thursdays 7-8pm. Places are limited to 6 pupils so booking is required. The cost will be £40 for a 5 week course, with the first course starting on 29th January 2015. If you’re not sure if Restorative yoga is for you, I will also hold a one-off taster session at 7-8pm on 22nd January 2015 which will cost £8- again booking is required. There’s more information here on Restorative yoga.

My usual Hatha Flow class on Thursdays at All Saints Church will move to Monday evenings 7-8pm beginning 19th January 2015.

Due to studio hire cost increases and to keep in line with other classes at the studio, my Neal’s Yard class on Wednesday mornings will now be £8 drop-in, or £35 for a 5 (consecutive) week class pass.

Happy New Year!
